Wooden Beads

Norah and I played with wooden beads today. I pulled them out with "fine motor" skill development in mind, but as we played I realized that this simple toy had so many possibilities. We counted. We talked about their colors. We stacked the cubes and tried to feed the string through the holes. Norah had the idea to sort the beads by shape and color. These beads do present choking and strangulation risk so they have to be used with Mom or Dad but what a great teaching toy!
