One Year Check Up

We took Norah to the doctor today for her one year check up. She got a good report: 18 lbs, 4 oz, 28 inches long, head circumference 17.5 inches. She continues to be 50th percentile for height and 25th for weight so she is just fine. We got the okay to start whole milk and small amounts of chocolate, nuts, strawberries and shellfish (the allergy-prone foods). Dr. Rok encouraged us to use more cups, less bottles and to keep reading. The tough part was that Norah had 3 shots and a finger stick to test her hemoglobin and lead levels. She didn't like that part.
We all felt better after we went for lunch at Chili's and to Toys r Us. We bought Norah a sandbox, a ball and a swing so that we can spend more time out in the yard. Don't worry, there will be photos soon. We finished off the afternoon at Grandma Pat's where Norah had her "one year" photo shoot with Auntie Molly. We are anticipating some very cute photographs.
