Norah continues to grow and learn new things about her little body. Over the past week she has discovered her voice. She is now cooing and babbling up a storm. She initiates this sound making on her own at times but it is especially cute when she tries to "talk" back to us. She and daddy have fun making silly noises to each other. Along with the sounds she makes, Norah is also smiling a lot now. If you smile at her, usually she will smile back. This week we introduced her to playing on her back. We set up this Baby Einstein toy that she can interact with while lying on a blanket. She is able to whack the ball with her hand and hit or kick the switch that makes the music play (this is still more random than deliberate).
Norah continues to enjoy sucking on her fists however more and more I see her isolating her thumb. Last night I caught her sucking her thumb with her index finger hooked over her nose!
Today we leave for our first official "family vacation" and camping trip. We will be at Myles Standish for much of the next two weeks. We look forward to sharing our love of the outdoors: hikes, fires, cooking outside, swimming, rope swing etc. with Norah even though this year she won't really understand what is going on.
