So today is the 13 week mark. It feels really good to have reached this significant milestone. We met with the midwife today. Kate had a pelvic exam (yuck) but we got to hear the heartbeat again (yeah!!). The bean's ticker is keeping pace in the 160s (beats per minute) which is on the high end of normal. That is a sign of a female baby if you believe the old wives tales. Kathy (the midwife) says that all looks good. That means I can spill the beans at work now. I wanted to wait until we hit the second trimester.
